Principal's Welcome

Principal[1].jpgIt gives me great pleasure to welcome you to St. Joseph’s Community College, situated in the seaside town of Kilkee, on the Atlantic coast of the Loop Head Peninsula.

St. Joseph’s Community College, Kilkee is a coeducational community college under the auspices of the Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board. Our school celebrates the traditions of the Sisters of Mercy Secondary School and Kilkee Vocational and Technical School. We are proud of the refurbishments and developments that have and continue to enhance our school as a modern learning environment.

The atmosphere in our school is positive and caring where students develop a good sense of internal discipline, a proactive sense of social awareness and a love of learning and achievement. The variety of aptitudes and talents of our students is further enhanced by the broad and vibrant range of curricular programmes, extra-curricular programmes, sports and activities on offer.

As a caring and inclusive school, our teachers are dedicated and committed to high quality teaching and learning with the aim of helping all our students reach their full potential. Developing the full potential of every student, spiritually, personally, academically and socially is our passion.

Our school logo is “school and community, a partnership for progress”. We acknowledge the contribution of all the partners in our school community, parents, students, staff and local area as we work together in a spirit of pride, collaboration and care.

I hope the school website gives you a real sense of the vibrancy of our school as well as our commitment to care and expertise in the pursuit of each person’s wellbeing and achievement.
